High Drive Scottish Country dance Band
HIgh Drive is the newest Scottish Country dance band from the Boston area. We play for dances, highland balls, dance weekends and dance camps. Elizabeth Howe performs in a duo with her cellist brother Ben Anderson. Catherine Miller is a busy freelance fiddler on the English, Scottish and Contra dance music scene. Together and separately, High Drive members perform for dance groups across the USA and Canada.
A Parcel of Rogues
A Parcel of Rogues are old friends who got together in 2006 to perform the music they love the best. Since then, the group has performed for formal dances, Celtic music festivals, New York and Boston high society and concert venues of all shapes and sizes including a biker bar in Queens! Calum Pasqua, Glenfiddich fiddle champion; Dan Houghton, virtuoso piper and Susie Petrov are occasionally joined by James Gray (piano & accordion) and Hollis Easter (flute) together creating a sound that the Boston Herald described as having a ”mighty muscularity.“
Local Hero
Local Hero are Susie Petrov, Christopher Layer, wooden flutes, Irish and Scottish bagpipes; and Paul Woodiel, fiddle. Known for their innovative arrangements and ability to fit the music perfectly to the steps of the dance, Local Hero’s music has inspired Scottish dancers since their first Hogmanay Ball in 1988. No strangers to the concert stage, they have given concerts in towns from Moab to New York.
